A method for manufacturing polypropylene/clay nanocomposite resin is provided to secure high dispersion even if small amount of a compatibilizer and nanoclay, low density and high flexural elasticity. A method for manufacturing polypropylene/clay nanocomposite resin comprises the steps of: injecting polypropylene 70-99.8 weight% with flexural modulus of 12,000-20,000 Kg/cm^2 in a reaction extruder; fusing the polypropylene at 180-220 °C; injecting a compatibilizer 0.1-10 weight% of modified polypropylene in the molten material and melting and mixing them, wherein the modified polypropylene is attached with reactive group selected from the group consisting of maleic acid, maleic anhydride, carboxylic acid and hydroxyl group; and adding nanoclay 0.1-20 weight% to the molten mixture, dispersing the mixture and extruding the dispersion.
