Apparatus and Method for Managementing Policy of Policy-Based Management Framework

A method and an apparatus for reducing power consumption of a home network apparatus based on a network protocol are provided to enable the home network apparatuses to automatically operate at a power saving mode while maintaining service connectivity without manual setting of a user, thereby maximally reducing power consumption due to an increasing number of home network apparatuses. A home network apparatus based on a network protocol comprises a system power control processing module(100), a system standby mode determining module(200), and a network protocol agent control module(300). The system power control processing module controls power of the home network apparatus by converting the home network apparatus into a standby state. The system standby mode determining module analyzes a network packet from a network interface. When a user packet or a user service does not exist, the system standby mode determining module determines a standby mode converting time point of the home network apparatus. And the system standby mode determining module notifies the system power control processing module of the standby mode converting time point.
