A process for preparing a peroxide curable composition based on butyl rubber comprising the steps of mixing a non-crosslinked or significantly non-crosslinked (10 wt.% Gel) butyl rubber polymer with a multiolefin (s) crosslinking (s) agent (s), peroxide (s) vulcanizing (s) agent (s) and at least one filler, wherein the method excludes the addition of any non-peroxide vulkanizatorov.2. A method according to claim 1 wherein the butyl polymer comprises the polymerization product of at least one isomonoolefin monomer with 4-7 carbon atoms and at least one multiolefin monomer with 4-14 carbon atoms and, optionally, one or more multiolefin (s) crosslinker (s) agent (s), wherein the multiolefin content (s) agent (s) in the polymer is less than 0.15 mol.%. 3. A method according to claim 1 wherein the multiolefin crosslinking agent is selected from the group consisting of norbornadiene, 2-isopropenyl-norbornene, 5-vinyl-2-norbornene, 1,3,5-hexatriene, 2-phenyl-1,3-butadiene, divinylbenzene, diisopropenylbenzene, divinyltoluene, divinylxylene, substituted alkyl of 1-20 carbon atoms and their derivatives smesi.4. A method according to claim 1, wherein as the peroxide vulcanizer used dialkylperoxides, ketalperoxides, aralkilperoksidy, peroxide ethers and esters efiry.5. A method according to claim 1 wherein the non-crosslinked or significantly non-crosslinked butyl rubber polymer contains less than 5 wt.% Gelya.6.
