FIELD: information technology.;SUBSTANCE: terminal has an application program carrier and a communication unit linked to the application programme for performing read and write operations on a medium which are required for conducting electronic transactions. The communication unit has apparatus for creating a write time window and a read time window based on a secure input signal, any writing and any reading being disabled outside of the corresponding windows. The communication unit and the application program carrier communicate through a confidential communication line. The electronic transaction system has one or more mobile terminals and a control device. The control device and the communication unit communicate during a session which is secured through mutual authentication based on a key (Kab) contained in the control device and in the communication unit.;EFFECT: high security when using the terminal, high accuracy of detecting loading of false data.;16 cl, 3 dwg
