The invention relates to test equipment for ultrasonic nondestructive testing and can be used to detect defects in the rails, determining the size and calculate residual life of the rail with a defect. Mobile rails diagnostic system comprises a computer for performing system control - registration (entry) of data processing and presentation of an automated ultrasonic inspection system unit for controlling the scanning device and switching ultrasonic channels; scanning apparatus for moving the set of piezoelectric transducers on the surface of the ski and the side surface of the rail head with a programmable predeterminable increments, the unit batteries thermostated designed to provide uninterrupted power to all system components, including at low temperatures, the connecting cables, for connection of various components of the system. The technical result - complete automation of the process of scanning, processing received in the registration data, the determination result of the defect code processing, its actual size, performance monitoring results in a protocol, and a schematic map of defects on the three-dimensional image of the rail, calculated residual life of the rail with the defect, and expanding the temperature range of the ultrasonic control of rails.
