An optical pumped laser– with a laser medium (1) which, for the absorption of pump light and the emission of laser light has a preferential direction of polarization -;– with a laser - resonator (100), in which the laser medium (1) is disposed; and;– with a pump light source (200), which for the pumping of the laser medium (1) a light beam (p) provides with unpolarized pump radiation,characterized in that– the light beam (p) with unpolarized pump radiation by means of beam splitter (2) in a first partial bundles (t1) and a second partial bundles (t2) is split, the said laser medium (1) are separately delivered;– in the beam path of a bundle of tubes (t2) the direction of polarization of a rotating optical element (3) is provided; and wherein– the beam splitter (2) and the the direction of polarization rotating optical element (3) have the effect that the first partial bundles (t1) and the second component beams (t2) of the laser medium (1) with one of the polarization - preferential direction of the laser medium (1) are fed to at least partially corresponding polarization.
