Method for computer based determination of similarities between electronically captured first and second characteristic markers has the following steps: for the first and second characteristic markers a phonetic representation is created; to determine a similarity the phonetic representations of the two characteristic markers are compared and; each second characteristic is output that fulfills a preset similarity criterion. An Independent claim is made for a device for computer based determination of similarities between electronically captured first and second characteristic markers.
