The method involves generating a periodic excitation signal of frequency equal to 125 kilo hertz or 13.56 mega hertz. A cell/battery (22) of an electronic equipment (20) is closed on a parallel inductor-capacitor (LC) circuit by a rectifier circuit (19). The equipment is brought closer to a charger at sufficient distance so that a magnetic field radiated by a radio frequency (RF) antenna (5) of a series LC circuit of the charger is captured by an RF antenna (9) of the parallel LC circuit of the equipment. Induced current rectified by the circuit (19) is generated to recharge the cell/battery. An independent claim is also included for an electronic equipment comprising a control block.
