The method involves determining a distortion value relative to distortion of a display image, which is displayed by a projection device provided in a motor vehicle, when the motor vehicle is passed through a defined measuring point in a serial production process of the motor vehicle. A current correction variable set is updated based on the distortion value. A predistortion parameter is adjusted by the projection device of the motor vehicle based on the current correction variable set, when the motor vehicle is passed through a definite adjusting position in the serial production process.
