The frame has a supporting profile (3) arranged at an external side of frame units (2) between a position at a window or door inner side and a position at a window or door outer side of the frame. The frame units retain a frame of the window or the door, and a chamber is formed with the respective frame units. A heat-insulating body arrangement such as vacuum panel (9), heat insulation plate (10) and sealing foam (11) is firmly attached at the external side of the frame units in the area between the supporting profile and an outer edge of the frame.
