A cockpit controller (2) determines multiple contexts from different information detected during the operation of a motor vehicle, where the contexts include the characteristics and/or handling of the driver and/or user of the motor vehicle. The cockpit controller controls the adaptation of the information representation of the information-playback unit depending on the contexts.
