Production of cement clinker comprises crushing, milling, mixing and drying starting material containing basic and acidic substances. The product is then preheated, calcined, sintered and cooled. The novelty is that particles with a size above 0.5 - 15 mm are first separated from the milled material, leaving a residue containing 10 -90% of particles of size up to 0.090 mm and particles below 0.5 - 15mm which are milled to a size of below 0,08 mm to below 0.2 mm.
