The method for producing a cement clinker (8), comprises preheating a raw material in a pre-heater (1), calcinating the preheated raw material in a calcinator (5), combusting the deacidified raw material in a furnace (6) to form the cement clinker, and cooling the burnt cement clinker in a cooler (9). Hydrogen and pure oxygen are separately supplied to the calcinator for combustion. The exhaust gas of the preheater is partially recirculated as a circulating gas to the calcinator. The combustion is carried out in the calcinator entirely with the hydrogen and the oxygen. The method for producing a cement clinker (8), comprises preheating a raw material in a pre-heater (1), calcinating the preheated raw material in a calcinator (5), combusting the deacidified raw material in a furnace (6) to form the cement clinker, and cooling the burnt cement clinker in a cooler (9). Hydrogen and pure oxygen are separately supplied to the calcinator for combustion. The exhaust gas of the preheater is partially recirculated as a circulating gas to the calcinator. The combustion is carried out in the calcinator entirely with the hydrogen and the oxygen. Lime-rich and lime-deficient material components (2, 4) are preheated in separate preheaters and then calcinated together in the calcinator. A part of the exhaust gas of the preheater is dedusted and dehumidified for the lime-rich material component. The exhaust gas of the preheater is heated in a heat exchanger with tertiary air of the cooler. The tertiary air is supplied to a current-generation device after the heat exchanger. Water is decomposed to oxygen and hydrogen. The required current for the decomposition is partially obtained from the exhaust gas occurring during the production of the cement clinker. The produced oxygen and hydrogen are used in the furnace and the calcinator for the combustion. An independent claim is included for a plant for producing a cement clinker.
