The vehicle (1) has an electrical machine (6) working as an electric motor in an operating mode and as a generator in another operating mode. A closed thermodynamic circuit (16) includes a heat exchanger (18) for transferring heat absorbed from a vehicle system to an operating medium of the circuit, which drives a work machine (19). The work machine outputs torque to drive wheels (14, 15) in an operating condition, and is decoupled from the wheels in another operating condition. The work machine drives the electrical machine and loads an on-board battery (22).
