The converter (9) has a converter layer (10) with converter elements (11) for direct conversion of x-ray radiation (8) or gamma radiation into electrical signals. X-ray radiation or gamma radiation absorbing absorber elements (13) are arranged such that the radiation is limited to a preset angular range. The absorber elements (13) with exclusion of absorber elements (13a, 13b) located with respect to an edge-side of the converter layer, are arranged such that the elements (13) are located sectionally in centre with respect to two converter elements which are adjacent to one another.
