Halogen free fire-retardant compound from thermoplastic polyurethane, comprises 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO) or its reaction product and another compound, where in the fire-retardant compound, the hydrogen of the phosphorus-hydrogen bond is substituted by an organic group. An independent claim is included for the use of the fire-retardant compound as carrier foil in halogen free fire-retardant wrapping tape.
