The system has a mobile identification sensor (7) carried by a user (1), and a control device (8) communicating with the sensor by a signal section. A vehicle-mounted mechanical coupling device (4) for a support belt (3) produces a coupler with a signal line unit (9) during coupling of the belt to the device (4). The device (8) is electrically coupled with the device (4) such that the unit forms the section between the device (8) and the sensor. The communication between the sensor and control device is realized by the section for verification of authorization to vehicle function access. An independent claim is also included for a method for access control in a motor vehicle.
