The device has igniter retainers (2) arranged in or at a housing (1). A deformation region of the housing produced by plastic deformation is pressed against a support section, which is associated with the retainers for fixing one of the retainers at the housing. The support section is arranged as a support element (25) i.e. support ring, separately from the retainers at a base plate (20) of the retainers, where the volume of the base plate is greater than that of the support element. The support element is arranged in a recess (21) of the base plate.
