The quality control process in the production of especially rail vehicles is divided into a number of sub-sections for each production stage. At the end of each stage, the fault register database (EMZ) automatically triggers a quality control test and the results are stored in memory. The database holds test lists and data sets for the production stages and/or the separate components used.
