The adapter has low pressure connections at which a pressure is applied to an outlet (26) of a separate pump for loading a low pressure circuit of a high pressure pump. A connection side (12) for a quantity proportional valve (20) and a connection side (28) for a pump housing (18) are arranged at an adapter body. A cross hole (31) runs into a socket (30) of the adapter. A connecting nipple (22) is rotatably mounted at an adapter body, which is tightly connected with the pump housing using a fastening screw (14).
