The method involves acquiring a raw data (RD-1) in pre-measurement (VM) and arranging a mask structure between an investigation object and a source of roentgen of a computer tomography system. An overview image data of the investigation object reconstruct the raw data that is acquired in the pre-measurement, where on the basis of the reconstruction the main measurement is controlled. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controller for controlling of a computer tomography system for producing images from inside of an investigation object (2) a computer tomography system with an investigation object (3) a computer program product with a processor.
