The method involves generating correction image data sets by combining high and low energy image data sets. The causative of artifacts structures in image data sets are segmented, to obtain image data masks. The inverse reconstruction of masks and correction image data are performed to obtain projection data masks and projection correction record, respectively. The corrected projection data sets are generated by replacing preset sections of original projection data sets with selected regions of record. The to-be-replaced sections are determined by using masks. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) image data set reconstruction device; (2) Rontgen computer tomography system; and (3) computer program product comprising computer readable storage medium storing instructions for correcting artifact in image data of object.
