The device has an upper die (101), a blank holder (102), and a lower die (103), where the holder is supported against a thrust bearing (105). A pressurizing medium counteracts between the bearing and holder in case of a deformation of the holder and/or the thrust bearing in a compensating manner. The support of the holder takes place against the bearing by pressure units. The pressure units engage at different points of the thrust bearing and the holder. The pressure unit has an actuator (106) e.g. hydraulic cylinder, whose actuation causes a length alteration of the pressure unit.
