The method involves carrying out relative movement between a patient (1) and a recording system (4) of a tomography device (2) during scanning for detecting projections of an analysis range (3). Inline layer images (6) are reconstructed from the projections attained during the scanning. Attenuation values are determined for each image in a region of vessels. A dynamic adjustment of the relative movement is carried out based on an evaluation of a sequence of determined values such that the scanning of the analysis range adjusted to a flow speed of a contrast medium is implemented. An independent claim is also included for a tomography device for scanning a patient, comprising contrast medium for collection of projections of an investigation range.
