The device has a control and evaluation unit with a commercial video camera (1) for detecting measuring beams containing information about surface-closed vein status in spatial, temporal and spectral distribution from selected area of a human body. The unit selects the beams that are converted into electrical signals. The signals are manipulated by using special software programs in such a manner that the signals are reproduced in a combined visualization software as static, biometric vein representations and as functional, multidimensional, virtual vein volumes of concerned body surface area.
