The display (1) has a housing (G) with a display area (A) having an illuminated region through which a light (L) is diffusedly let out from the interior of the housing to the housing. An inner surface of the housing has a diffusedly reflective region (R) to provide a display luminous emittance uniformity, and a light source e.g. LED, outputs light. The illuminated region is relatively smaller than the inner surface, and the source is arranged within the surface, where the light is emitted in a half-space, which does not include the display area but include the region of the inner surface.
