The wall has a cooling air path (7) supplying cool air to an engine compartment (2) or a passenger compartment (3) in a motor vehicle. A cooling air inlet is formed in a region of a vehicle floor (8), for allowing the cool air to enter into the cooling air path. A cooling air outlet (10) is opened to the engine compartment. The cooling air path is formed in a hollow space that is formed by two individual walls (5, 6). Two disk-shaped or pot-shaped distance elements support two individual walls to one another.
