The dynamo (1) has a magnetic field generator (2) for producing a magnetic field for wireless transmission of energy to an energy receiver (5) formed in a headlight (3) or taillight (4). The magnetic field generator is provided with a resonant circuit that has a capacitance, an electrical resistance and an inductance. The resonant circuit is provided with a variable resonant frequency. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating a lighting unit (2) a light, particularly head light or taillight with an energy receiver.
