The box (10) has a cover (14) formed as a deep-drawn half shell (12). A connecting device connects the half shell and/or the cover. The half shell exhibits a bent edge strip (20) that projects inward. The edge strip is formed as a circulating flange. The half shell and the cover are flexibly interconnected by using a flexible connection (24). An opening (26) is arranged in area (22) of the flexible connection of the half shell with the cover. The flexible connection is formed by a hinge joint. The half shell and/or the cover exhibit a tool insert. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tool box.
