Method for manufacturing waveguide extending along given wave guiding path for light signal of given signal wavelength, involves making available organic material which has refractive index in which optical anisotropy is induced
The method involves making available an organic material which has a refractive index in which an optical anisotropy is induced by irradiating with polarized light of a write wavelength through a multi photon process. The organic material is irradiated with a write-light field which is focused on a focus area (36) and is linear polarized in a polarization direction. The write light field has a wavelength which corresponds to the write wavelength. An independent claim is included for a wave guiding component for conducting a light signal of a given signal wavelength.
