The method involves providing plates e.g. unattached elements, in a flat layer, where the plates and the flat layer are attached in a hinged manner and clamped with each other in a processing layer. A shield (2) is normally arranged on a base at a carriage, where the shield moves along a downward- upward direction of the processing layer. The shield is provided with a frame (1). Supporting and partitioning elements, shield and the frame are made of steel. An independent claim is also included for a device for protecting a house against flooding in an emergency.
