The device (1) has an infrared radiation detector for temperature measurement of a measuring spot (4) on a measuring object (5) e.g. building. An optical recording device (2) detects a region containing the spot, and a display unit (6) e.g. LCD screen, displays a measured temperature value. The display unit is provided for continuous representation of the region of the object and temperature information about a temperature actually obtained on the measuring spot. The temperature information is correlated with the representation in a real time under conditions of chronological synchronism.
