The method involves detecting network failure of a power supply network (10), and separating a printing machine (4) from an electrical network during the detection of the failure. An isolated network (3) with printing machine components e.g. empty roll (4a), printing tower (4b), turnaround floor (4c) and seam tower (4d), is formed according to the detection of the failure with the printing machine. The components are connected together, and the isolated network is used for synchronization of the components and/or for synchronous or controlled braking or shutting down of the components. An independent claim is also included for a device for stopping a printing machine during network failure.
