The follower (4) has a gas exchange valve that is actuated by stroke of the follower, and a joint socket (8) pivotably and movably supported at a socket head of a supporting element. A spraying borehole (22) applies lubricant on a contact surface of the follower for a driven valve train component. A valve body (23) controls lubricant flow through the borehole and is arranged at an outlet of the borehole. The body completely closes the borehole depending on lubricant pressure, where the body is pressurized by spring force during closing and by lubricant pressure during opening.
