The bar (1) has a base section (6) fastened to an adjacent structure e.g. floor, and a base section (7) fastened to a partition wall (2), where a set of height-adjustable adjusting units (8) is arranged between the sections. A gap between the sections is covered by two laterally arranged covering units (9). Each covering unit has a pair of retaining sections (10) provided with groove-shaped recesses (11) in longitudinal sides (12) of a covering section (13). The retaining sections are accommodated along a direction of width of the covering section in a flexible manner.
