The collector has a pipe (1) guiding liquid or gaseous medium for receiving heat from incident solar radiation. A heat emission surface (3) is arranged within the pipe and stays in thermal connection with a wall of the pipe for delivery of heat received by the tube to the medium. The surface is formed by a star shaped arrangement of heat conducting plates (21, 22), where the surface is inserted into the pipe and rests against the wall of the pipe with radially outer ends. Heat receiving surfaces exhibit an interval of 90 degrees to each other along circumferential direction of the pipe.
