The method involves transmitting pressure on a working piston by a translator piston (9). An accumulator piston (3) is provided for an express movement of the working piston by displacing hydraulic fluid from a storage chamber (12). Air, introduced in the storage chamber in a maintenance operation, is let out from the storage chamber. A hydraulic fluid volume in the storage chamber is drained below a ventilation opening (13) into the storage chamber. An independent claim is included for a hydraulic fluid pump for maintenance of a hydro-pneumatic device for a pressure transmission.
