The cutter (10) has a knife arrangement (11) for making food cutting plate (22). An accommodating device (20) is provided for the plate after cutting. The plate is subjected with fluid separation medium (30) e.g. film former, after cutting a food, by an application device (28). The application device has a spray nozzle (32), by which the plate is directly sprayed with the medium. The nozzle with a spray jet is arranged on a storage table (24) of the accommodating device. The application device has a container (36) for storing the medium. An independent claim is also included for a method for storing a food cutting plate.
