The method involves turning a fastening screw (3) by applying torque for manufacturing a screw joint. A joining point is determined as a point of torque-rotation angle-characteristic when the point exceeds stored values of rotational angle and the torque, where a linear correlation between the torque and the angle ends at the values. The screw is further turned around an angle, and the torque acting on the screw is increased around one of the values according to the determination of the point, where the value is a function of an angle value and/or the torque.
