The seed drill (1) has a storage container (5) connected to a distribution head (7) from which seed or fertilizer is directed towards distributor elements (9) e.g. sowing coulters, through a set of distribution conduits (8). A height adjusting device (18) is associated with the distribution head so as to adjust the height of the head. The height adjusting device is equipped with a telescopic raising tube (11), and moves the distribution head to a lowered transport position and a raised working position.
