The routing device has a detector (7) with imaging optics (10) for imaging an object scene on the detector (7), and an electronics unit (30) for evaluation of the detector. An additional positions device is provided and arranged with a laser detector (21). A laser optics (22) maps laser spots (26, 26') to the laser detector (21) and the associated processor (40) evaluates whether the laser spots are received by the laser detector (21). An independent claim is included for a method.
