The method involves determining n-direction vectors from an n-sided polygon. Projection data are derived in a direction of the vectors. A Hilbert image matrix is determined by rear-projection of the data. A Hilbert transformation of a distribution of a radiation-influencing material characteristic of an object (18) is determined along the vectors. An image matrix representing the distribution of the object is computed with image values from the Hilbert image matrix, where the Hilbert transformation are included during computation. The image matrix is displayed as an image. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an image representation device including an image display device (2) a computer program product causing a computer to execute an image representation method.
