The method involves providing a brush (1) i.e. linear brush, with a set of filaments (3) which are held in a filament holder (2). The filaments have a free section (3') such as filament end, for surface cleaning and are made of plastic. Fluid flows from an opening (5) to the filaments, where the fluid comprises gas or compressed air. The fluid is provided after leaving the opening with a further fluid. The fluid is provided with droplets, where the droplets partly consist of water or cleaning liquid. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for cleaning a brush (2) a cleaning substance for applying forces on a part of a brush for cleaning the brush.
