The downholder has a set of segments (2) manufactured by a generative manufacturing method and connected together for designing the downholder. The segments exhibit a groove shaped casing (4), which is reinforced by a rib (5), where the segments are welded with one another. A centering element positions the segments together, where the segments are connected to each other. A connecting pin intervenes into an opening in the segments, and the downholder is rectangular shaped, where sides of the rectangle exhibit small breadth. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a downholder.
