The seal has a radially outward projecting circulating bulge (6) provided at outer circumference of a sealing back (3) of a seal base body (2). The circulating bulge rests against a cylinder-inner wall in an installation position, where diameter of the seal in the area of the bulge is larger than that of an external installation dimension (10) of the ring seal. Axial width (D) of the bulge is equal to 20-40 percent of total width of the ring seal, where the bulge exhibits a semicircular cross section. The ring seal is made of flexible material such as plastic or rubber.
