The drive (1) has a brake assembly hydraulic unit (10) serves as e.g. anti-lock braking system-hydraulic unit, of a motor vehicle and provided for operating a hydraulic load (4) i.e. piston-cylinder-unit. The brake assembly hydraulic unit is provided with proportional valves e.g. 3/3-way valve. A control device (11) for a hydraulic unit is attached to the brake assembly hydraulic unit. An adapter-control device (17) is connected with the control device in a signal-conductive manner for converting control and/or sensor signals into signals processed by the control device (11). The brake assembly hydraulic unit serves as an anti-lock braking system-hydraulic unit, an electronic stability program-hydraulic unit and a drive slip control system-hydraulic unit.
