The diagnosis device (1) has an electromagnetic localization system with a field generator (4) which is moved by a traveling device (6) between two positionings. The volumes overlap in the former positioning with the examination volumes (V-R) of the imaging diagnostic apparatus. The volumes are monitored with the localization system. The field generator is arranged in the latter positioning outside the monitoring volume. An independent claim is included for a method for processing diagnostic image data.
