Hydrodynamic retarder, has rotor and stator turbine wheels together forming working chamber and comprising blades, where mean number of blades is determined based on working medium, middle inclined position angle and profile shift factor
The retarder has a rotor turbine wheel (2) and a stator turbine wheel (3) together forming a toroidal working chamber (10), where the wheels comprise blades. A middle inclined position angle of one of the wheels is equal to an inclined position angle on a diameter of a surface bisector, which divides the working chamber into two equal large ring surfaces. A mean number of blades is determined based on a working medium, the middle inclined position angle and a profile shift factor, which results from division of outer diameter of an opposite profile by outer diameter of a normal profile.
