In a catalyst for a fuel cell of a fuel cell stack, consisting of elongated rod-form catalyst elements (50) located in a base part (11) with catalyst element receiving regions (12), the elements being exchanged by extraction from and insertion into the stack in their longitudinal direction, the catalyst elements comprise a rod-form support on which a layer of catalyst material is applied.
