The method involves detecting motor torque continuously. The changing current frequency is calculated with the continuously detected motor torque on the basis of a load dependent speed characteristic (1,2,3). The calculated changing current frequency is adjusted continuously at a frequency generator. A torque receiver and the frequency generator are coupled with each other. An independent claim is included for a device for operating asynchronous motor.
